Certifications & Standards

Certified.
Listed. Approved.

FireGuard™ systems carry the full certification stack required by AHJs, insurance underwriters, and engineering specifications. Every certification is product-level — not just process — covering wetted materials, fire pumps, controllers, tanks, and enclosures.

NSF 61 — Why It Matters for Fire Systems

Many jurisdictions now require NSF/ANSI 61 certification for all components in fire suppression systems connected to potable water supplies — not just drinking water systems. California, Washington, Vermont, and the EU Drinking Water Directive all mandate or are moving toward NSF 61 for fire protection connections. FireGuard™ ships NSF 61 compliant as standard, not as an upgrade, eliminating re-specification risk on every project.

AHJ Documentation Package — Included Standard

Every FireGuard™ system includes: complete hydraulic calculations per NFPA 20 Annex B, pump curve data with system curve overlay, P&ID drawings (AutoCAD and PDF), equipment submittals with UL/FM listing sheets, factory test report signed by MTW PE, and an O&M manual. Optional: PE-stamped drawings for permit submission.

Plug-and-Play Process

Connect. Commission.
Protect.

FireGuard™ systems eliminate field assembly entirely. Every system arrives ready to connect. Site work is limited to three utility connections and anchor bolts. Our commissioning team handles the rest.

1
Specify & Order
Submit your required fire flow (GPM), residual pressure (PSI), and duration (hours) from your fire protection engineer's hydraulic analysis. MTW selects the appropriate FireGuard model, confirms with your EOR, and issues shop drawings within 5 business days of order.
→ 5 Business Days to Drawings
2
Factory Build & Test
Complete system assembled, piped, wired, and factory acceptance tested at rated GPM and PSI. All pump curves verified against NFPA 20 acceptance criteria: churn, rated flow, and 150% overload point. Test report signed and sealed by MTW professional engineer.
→ 8–16 Week Build · FAT Included Standard
3
Deliver & Set
Flatbed delivery — standard legal load, crane or forklift setting. Foundation pad or concrete slab (owner-provided) must be complete and cured. System sets on anchor bolts in hours. Pump house enclosure systems require only personnel and equipment access doors to be site-hung.
→ Typically 1-Day Crane Pick
4
Connect Utilities
Three connections only: (1) water supply to suction header, (2) electrical service to controller disconnect, (3) discharge header to system. Diesel fuel fill (if diesel pump included). All internal piping, wiring, and instrumentation is complete. No field pipe fitting. No field wire pulls inside the system.
→ Typically 1–2 Days Site Work
5
Commission & AHJ Inspection
MTW commissioning engineer on-site for NFPA 20 acceptance test in the presence of the AHJ. Full flow test, churn test, pressure transducer calibration, alarm verification, and controller sequence testing. AHJ documentation package — signed hydraulic calcs, UL/FM listing sheets, and test reports — provided at inspection.
→ Typically 1-Day AHJ Witness Test
🧪
